1. Find out the development needs. Boil it into the most notable three development needs, or in other words, “what are you currently hoping to get from the program?” Typical email address details are “learn how you can~the way to~tips on how to~the best way to~ways to be a little more strategic”, “leading change”, or some mixture of functional knowledge (finance, sales, and marketing). There can be is really a timeframe that’s better or worse than these (i.e., next 6 months, avoid the summer, etc…)
2. Search your preferred executive education providers.
3. Once you see a couple of potential programs, get a good fit. Consider the recommended participant level, participant mix, industry mix, and company participation.
4. Browse the instructors, look at bios. Assess the day by day agenda, topics, and activities. Again, you desire a great fit to the participant and his/her development needs. Speak with the provider’s Exec Ed Director, or someone that may help you find out about the programs.
Ask other’s should they have experience with the program.
5. Talk with past participants if possible, or someone in charge of leadership/executive development development.
6. Geography can sometimes be a factor. Trying to find a global experience? Than look for a good combination of global participants, or better yet, attend an application outside the U.S.
7. Period of program: Programs range from 2-3 days in order to six weeks. I honestly don’t know how someone could afford to attend a 6 week program these days, unless these are on the sabbatical or their company is just looking to get gone them for a time.
8. Check out the amenities’. Alright, I am aware, it is a learning experience rather than a trip, but high quality food, accommodations, and surroundings each one is the main total experience. Also find out if the bedroom and your meals are within the program.
9. Factors that should not a part of a conclusion: alumni relationships, timing coinciding using the NCAA playoffs, and catchy program titles.
10. All things considered of the, narrow it into 2-3 program, and after that select according to best fit, timing, and charges.
